I'm a Canadian-American freelance translator working primarily with translation of contemporary Brazilian literary fiction and creative non-fiction. I have translated work by several award-winning Portuguese-language authors including Veronica Stigger, Rodrigo de Souza Leão, Alexandra Lucas Coelho, Julián Fuks, João Ximenes Braga, Carlos Henrique Schroeder, Lourenço Mutarelli, Mia Couto, and Sérgio Rodrigues. I blog about untranslated Portuguese-language books at Gringa Reads, and in 2017 I joined forces with four other literary translators to found The Starling Bureau, a new model in promoting the best books from around the globe.

Born and raised in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, I've spent the last ten years living and working in Brazil, Spain, France, and Russia. I now divide my time between grey London and sunny Lisbon.
